The Permanent Secretary for Trade in Fiji, Shaheen Ali, emphasized that China remains a friend rather than a threat during a recent media briefing. Addressing concerns regarding Chinese influence amid rising geopolitical tensions between the East and West, Ali expressed confidence in the positive relationship between Fiji and China. He stated, “I can definitely confirm that China is a friend and not a threat at all.”
