The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has charged a 79-year-old man with the alleged rape and indecent assault of a 13-year-old.
According to the ODPP Rape and Sexual Offences Statistics for June 2024, a 59-year-old man has also been charged with the rape and sexual assault of his 15-year-old niece.
In a separate incident, a 40-year-old man has been charged with the rape of his 19-year-old niece.
Additionally, a 33-year-old man faces charges for the rape of his 15-year-old niece.
Another case involved a 42-year-old man who was charged with the rape of his 42-year-old wife; however, this case was discontinued due to insufficient evidence.
Moreover, a 20-year-old man has been charged with the rape of an 11-year-old, and a 38-year-old man has been charged with the rape and indecent assault of a 13-year-old girl from his village.
The ODPP reported one incident where an 18-year-old man was charged with defiling a 14-year-old girl.
Four cases were discontinued after Nolle Prosequi filings due to insufficient and inconsistent evidence, inability to contact or locate the victims, and the death of the accused individuals.
