Celebrating Together: A Day of Joy for Families and Faith

Many people celebrated Prophet Muhammad’s birthday yesterday with planned activities and worship, either at home or in mosques. Meanwhile, others took advantage of the public holiday to enjoy picnics at various locations across the country. The sunny and breezy weather made it an ideal day for family outings.

One group enjoying the day was from the Kalabu Jyoti Assemblies of God church, who began with a service followed by team bonding activities and a potluck lunch. Arveena Kumar, the wife of senior pastor Suresh Kumar, noted the high turnout and engaging atmosphere, stating, “We are here for team bonding and basically a family get together.” She highlighted the enjoyable lunch and a variety of games, including spoon races, apple and bun eating, duck and wheelbarrow races, touch rugby, and ended the day with swimming.

At Suva Point in Laucala Bay, the Hedstrom family from Nakasi, Nasinu, was also enjoying their time. According to Kibae, the father, the picnic provided a perfect break from school and work. Fifteen-year-old Caleb Ueanimaraki shared that the trip was relaxing, adding, “I came with my uncle and his family, and the trip was relaxing before we get back to school.”
