The Tui Vuda, Ratu Eparama Tavaiqia, marked his 94th birthday with a celebration at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Nadi on Wednesday.
The event was attended by traditional leaders from Vuda, members of chiefly families, and residents of Viseisei, honoring Tui Vuda’s 14 years of leadership within his vanua.
Expressing his gratitude, he remarked on the blessing of reaching this age and the opportunity to celebrate surrounded by loved ones. “I thank God for giving me life that I can be here and celebrate my birthday with you today. I am grateful for the leadership and the guidance that at this age I can still lead my vanua,” he stated.
His spokesperson, Ratu Meli Tora, highlighted that Tui Vuda is the only living eldest iTaukei paramount chief. “May God continue to bless his life, his leadership, and his vanua,” Ratu Meli added.
