Ratu Eparama Tavaiqia, the Tui Vuda, marked his 94th birthday at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Nadi on Wednesday. The celebration included traditional leaders from Vuda, various members of chiefly families, and villagers from Viseisei. This occasion also commemorates the 14th year of Tui Vuda’s leadership in his community.
Expressing gratitude, he acknowledged the blessing of reaching this age. “I thank God for giving me life that I can be here and celebrate my birthday with you today. I am grateful for the leadership and the guidance that at this age I can still lead my vanua,” he stated. Tui Vuda further conveyed his appreciation for the love and support he has received.
His spokesperson, Ratu Meli Tora, shared that Tui Vuda is currently the only living eldest iTaukei paramount chief. Ratu Meli concluded with a wish for continued blessings on Tui Vuda’s life, leadership, and his community.
