Celebrating a Century of Learning: Drasa School’s Historic Milestones

Former students, parents, and faculty gathered in large numbers on Thursday night to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Drasa Primary School and the 50th anniversary of Drasa Secondary School.

Shiva Gounder, managing director of Subrail’s Furniture, officiated the event at the Lautoka school. He emphasized that the celebration was a recognition of a century of education and progress.

“We honor Drasa Primary School’s century of excellence and the 50-year journey of Drasa Secondary School,” Mr. Gounder stated. “This event highlights the enduring spirit of education and our commitment to shaping the future.”

He extended his congratulations to the staff, students, and alumni of Drasa Primary School for reaching this centennial milestone, noting that “100 years is an important achievement that showcases the strength and vision that have guided this institution from its modest beginnings.”

The celebration included a three-day carnival held at the primary school grounds, which featured a diverse range of activities, such as cultural performances, sports competitions, and food stalls.
