Former students, parents, and current students gathered in large numbers on Thursday evening to celebrate the centennial anniversary of Drasa Primary School and the 50th anniversary of Drasa Secondary School.
During the festivities at the Lautoka school, Shiva Gounder, the managing director of Subrail’s Furniture, emphasized the significance of the event, which he described as a celebration of a rich tradition of education and development.
“We celebrate Drasa Primary School’s 100 years of excellence and the 50-year journey of Drasa Secondary School,” Mr. Gounder stated, highlighting the lasting impact of education in shaping the future.
He extended his congratulations to the staff, students, and alumni of Drasa Primary School for achieving the milestone of 100 years, noting that it represents the enduring strength and vision that has guided the institution since its modest beginnings.
The celebration included a three-day carnival at the primary school grounds, which concluded yesterday. The carnival offered a diverse range of activities, featuring cultural performances, sports competitions, and various food stalls.
