Ratu Eparama Tavaiqia, the Tui Vuda, marked his 94th birthday on Wednesday at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Nadi. The event was attended by traditional leaders from Vuda, members of chiefly families, and villagers from Viseisei, celebrating 14 years of his leadership in the community.
Reflecting on his life, Ratu Eparama expressed gratitude for reaching this milestone. “I thank God for giving me life that I can be here and celebrate my birthday with you today. I am grateful for the leadership and guidance that allows me to still lead my vanua at this age,” he stated. He also appreciated the love and support he has received from those around him.
His spokesperson, Ratu Meli Tora, noted that Tui Vuda is currently the oldest iTaukei paramount chief alive. Ratu Meli offered blessings for the Tui Vuda’s continued leadership and well-being within his community.
