Former students of St Anne’s Primary School took to the streets of Suva yesterday morning to celebrate the school’s 120th anniversary.

The alumni organized a week-long series of events to commemorate the school’s history, which featured performances by current students, a formal ball, and a church service scheduled for today.

The head teacher, Miliana Caginavanua, expressed that the event has fostered unity among alumni, students, and parents, creating a strong sense of community.

“I would like to thank the old scholars for their involvement and expertise, and they have committed to continuing their support in the coming years,” Ms. Caginavanua stated.

She noted that alumni have pledged ongoing assistance, including financial support, administrative help, and volunteering.

Contributions from alumni across different decades have also included two laptops for teachers, curtains for the school library, solar lights, and books for the school.

Ms. Caginavanua mentioned that the preparations for the anniversary celebrations were seamlessly integrated into the school curriculum, ensuring thorough coverage of all subjects prior to the event.

She emphasized that the community’s engagement and support have been key to the success of the celebration and will benefit future school initiatives.
