Former students of St Anne’s Primary School held a march in Suva yesterday morning to celebrate the school’s 120th anniversary.
The alumni organized a week-long celebration to honor the school’s legacy, featuring performances by current students, a formal ball, and a church service scheduled for today.
Miliana Caginavanua, the school’s head teacher, remarked that the event fostered unity among alumni, students, and parents, creating a strong sense of sisterhood.
“I want to express my gratitude to the former scholars for their involvement and expertise. They have committed to providing ongoing support in the years to come,” Ms. Caginavanua stated.
The alumni have pledged continued assistance, offering their knowledge in various areas, including financial contributions, administrative aid, and volunteering their time and skills.
Graduates from different decades have donated resources such as two laptops for teachers, curtains for the school library, solar lights, and books.
Ms. Caginavanua noted that the preparations for the celebrations were incorporated into the school curriculum, ensuring that all learning objectives were met prior to the event.
She emphasized that community involvement and support have been vital to the celebration’s success and future school initiatives.
