Former students of St Anne’s Primary School marched through Suva yesterday morning to celebrate the school’s 120th anniversary.

The alumni organized a week-long series of events to honor the school’s rich history, which included performances by current students, a formal ball, and a church service scheduled for today.

Miliana Caginavanua, the school’s head teacher, expressed that the event fostered a sense of unity and sisterhood among alumni, students, and parents.

“I’d like to thank the old scholars for their involvement, sharing their expertise, and committing to assist us in the future,” said Ms. Caginavanua.

She highlighted that alumni have pledged to provide ongoing support, which includes financial assistance, administrative help, and volunteering their skills.

Contributions from alumni spanning various decades included resources like two laptops for teachers, curtains for the school library, solar lights, and books for the students.

Ms. Caginavanua stated that the preparations for the celebrations were woven into the school curriculum to ensure all academic requirements were met before the festivities.

She also acknowledged the crucial role of community involvement and support in making the celebration successful and in advancing future school projects.
