Caregivers Graduate: CEO Emphasizes Importance of Training and Empathy

Housing Assistance and Relief Trust (HART) CEO Paserio Furivai emphasized the importance of caring for others, noting that it helps people understand the fragility of life and the necessity to value and preserve it.

Speaking at the Mauri Professional Caregiving Institute’s inaugural graduation ceremony, Furivai stated that delivering optimal care requires a deep comprehension of both the physical and psychological aspects of human nature, along with the right environment and skills to meet these needs.

“I believe that a trained caregiver will also be more accommodating, more patient, and more appreciative of life,” Furivai said. “These things require training.”

Furivai highlighted that the graduating class from the Mauri Institute included 37 women and four men.

“This is not only interesting but very encouraging, seeing women excel in higher education and learning,” he said. “You have proven that if you are determined enough and set your mind to it, you can achieve whatever it is you want.”
