Opposition member Premilla Kumar raised a question in Parliament regarding the revenue generated by Fiji Airways, highlighting that the government has frequently disclosed financial savings but not revenue figures. Her inquiry was aimed at Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka, who highlighted the achievements of Fiji Airways in his ministerial statement. Ms. Kumar commented on the training initiatives provided for regional and international airlines under the Bainimarama Government and pressed for specific revenue figures, stating, “We know how much it has saved, but how much revenue has it generated?” In response, Minister Gavoka acknowledged that he did not have the exact revenue amount on hand but assured the Parliament he would provide the information in the next session.
