Call for Government Action: Construction of Modern Hospital Urged

Independent Opposition Member of Parliament Ketan Lal is urging the Government to prioritize the construction of a new, state-of-the-art Colonial War Memorial Hospital facility, noting that the current infrastructure is outdated and costly to maintain.

Lal emphasized that instead of continuously investing in an aging structure, the Government should focus on building a new hospital that can meet the demands of modern healthcare.

“From a construction and engineering perspective, the ongoing maintenance of the old CWM facility is not only financially burdensome but also inefficient,” he said.

Lal suggested that a phased approach to constructing a new hospital would be more cost-effective in the long run and would allow for the implementation of advanced medical technologies and modern design principles from the outset.

“We propose a strategic, phased construction plan, where each phase focuses on a different section of the hospital,” he explained.

“This approach will ensure that the project remains manageable and financially sustainable. By planning meticulously, we can maintain healthcare services with minimal disruption while progressing towards our goal of a new facility.”

Lal also called for collaborative efforts, stating, “This initiative transcends political boundaries. It is not a time for blame games but for unification. The current government has a unique chance to take visionary steps by launching the construction of a new hospital.”

He also mentioned that existing facilities could be repurposed for administrative or research purposes, ensuring that no part of the infrastructure goes to waste.

Lal concluded by saying that a new CWM Hospital would not only benefit the healthcare system but would also symbolize the nation’s commitment to the well-being of its citizens. “It will be a testament to our ability to innovate and adapt, ensuring that future generations have access to world-class medical care,” he said.
