A total of 875 students from Suva Grammar School successfully participated in their cadet passing-out parade held at Suva’s Albert Park yesterday.
Despite the heat, the students showcased the disciplined training they had undergone over the past few weeks.
Family, friends, and loved ones gathered in large numbers to witness the event.
Chief guest Colonel Jofiliti Gadevulatolu Talemaibau, director of Human Resources at the RFMF, reviewed the parade and praised the cadets for their excellent and exceptional performance, demonstrated through their professional drill movements and discipline.
“You are the tools upon which the future of our beloved Fiji will rest,” Col Talemaibau said in his address.
“We must strive for excellence academically and develop a sense of maturity to perform exceptionally.”
He noted that cadet training is designed to instill discipline and teamwork.
“A disciplined upbringing will carry you far in life and help you navigate the challenges we face in the current environment.
“We need a drug-free Fiji to build a robust future for our children and the generations to come.
“The champion edge is not given by birth, high IQ, or talent; it comes from attitude.”
He further stated that the Ministry of Education is committed to providing a better education system, calling for a collaborative effort.
