High-ranking members of the Cabinet and the People’s Alliance have reaffirmed their support for Prime Minister and Party Leader Sitiveni Rabuka. In an unusual move, the Prime Minister’s social media team shared statements from several key figures, including Deputy Prime Minister and Trade Minister Manoa Kamikamica, Lands Minister Filimoni Vosarogo, Agriculture Minister Vatimi Raiyalu, Women and Children Minister Lynda Tabuya, PAP official Colonel Sakiusa Raivoce, Fisheries and Forests Minister Alitia Bainivalu, and Rural Development Minister Sakiasi Ditoka, all expressing their backing for Rabuka.

Earlier this week, Rabuka acknowledged the existence of a faction within the Party seeking to separate from the People’s Alliance to establish a new political party ahead of the 2026 General Election. He stated that those individuals are free to pursue their own path but emphasized that the People’s Alliance remains united and dedicated to fulfilling its commitments to the Fijian people. “We will not be distracted. Our focus is clear, and our mission continues,” Rabuka declared.

The Prime Minister is currently in New Zealand for his first official visit, where he is scheduled to meet with his counterpart. He is also expected to be the keynote speaker at the Fiji Day Celebrations with the Fijian community in Aotearoa today. Following this, he will participate in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa next week, which will focus on creating a prosperous, secure, sustainable, and equitable future, especially for the youth.
