“Business Magnates Offer to Clear $701,680 Debt of FijiFirst, Sparks Fear of Political Influence”

Former FijiFirst party member and Opposition MP, Mosese Bulitavu, recently revealed that some major businesspersons expressed an interest in settling the $701,680 debt of FijiFirst. While Bulitavu opted to not disclose their identities, he noted that these individuals were key players in the business world.

According to Bulitavu, the party considered several options, including engaging the services of these businesspeople who displayed political involvement. However, there were concerns that these business figures might seek to gain control of the party.

“There could be expectations of rewards such as board membership in return for their financial aid,” Bulitavu stated, recalling similar situations in the past. He pointed out that the decision to involve them had required serious consideration.

According to Bulitavu, these major business figures were supporters of FijiFirst and didn’t want to see the party decline.
