Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, ACP Livai Driu, has urged property owners to enhance their security measures following a reported burglary at an estate in Taveuni last week.
In his statement, Mr. Driu mentioned that K9 officers promptly responded to a call regarding the break-in. A specialized team was deployed to the area, where they successfully tracked down and arrested a suspect, recovering items believed to be stolen.
“The suspect is currently in custody as our investigation continues,” Mr. Driu stated. He also pointed out that several incidents showed no signs of forced entry, indicating that some properties may have been left unlocked.
“Sometimes, we tend to overlook essential security measures for our homes, which can lead to burglary incidents,” he added.
