National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad has expressed deep appreciation for Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, recognizing his friendship and fairness. During the Party Convention held in Sigatoka, Prof Prasad highlighted the Prime Minister’s ongoing support during his personal challenges while in Government.
He described Rabuka’s leadership as promising for both the nation and the Government, emphasizing collaborative efforts aimed at improvement. Prof Prasad acknowledged that their political partnership predates their current coalition and suggested that it has a strong foundation that is likely to last.
While recognising the challenges of coalition governance, he noted that the three parties sometimes have differing viewpoints, even publicly. He stated, “We expect that. We are all in politics for different reasons. We represent different people with different priorities.”
Prof Prasad assured that, despite public disagreements, there is mutual respect among coalition members. He insisted that even in a coalition, members must respect one another’s views, which is essential for building trust. He contrasted this approach with previous administrations, aiming to foster a government that reinstalls trust in the country.
