The Bank South Pacific Financial Group (BSP) has named Paul Black as its new general manager for Pacific market operations. With over 35 years of experience in retail and corporate banking, Mr. Black brings a wealth of knowledge to his role. Before joining BSP Group in 2011, he worked for more than 22 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, assuming various senior leadership positions.

Since 2015, Mr. Black has served as deputy general manager for corporate banking, contributing to the Pacific markets and leading teams in Vanuatu and the Cook Islands in recent years. He possesses specialized skills in corporate lending, credit risk mitigation, negotiation, and is recognized as a strong leader within the organization.

Currently, Mr. Black is a member of FINSA and is pursuing his MBA with the Australian Institute of Business. Mark Robinson, CEO of BSP Group, praised Mr. Black’s leadership experience and his familiarity with the South Pacific region.

Mr. Black’s appointment is part of a series of executive leadership changes announced on Wednesday via the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the Port Moresby Exchange (PNGX), aimed at bolstering the bank’s modernization and growth initiatives.
