Bristol Bears secured their first home win of the season, defeating a reshuffled Northampton side 31-23 in a hard-fought match. Kalaveti Ravouvou, playing his first game of the season, made a significant impact by scoring two tries.
Northampton initially took a commanding lead, with George Hendy and Josh Kemeny helping them establish a 15-0 advantage within the first 20 minutes. However, Bristol quickly responded with two fast tries from Ravouvou and Gabriel Ibitoye, bringing them back into the game.
Ravouvou’s second try allowed Bristol to edge ahead before Joe Batley sealed the match with their fourth try, extending the lead with just 10 minutes remaining. Although James Ramm managed to score for Northampton in the final minute, it was too late to alter the outcome, marking their sixth consecutive Premiership loss on the road.
This victory is Bristol’s fourth straight win against Northampton and puts them 10 points ahead as they sit atop the table prior to the remaining weekend fixtures.
