Nataliyah Taga, a 19-year-old student from Caukadrove, is pursuing a degree in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering at Fiji National University. Encouraged by her aunt, owner of Lei Entertainers, she entered this year’s Coral Coast Festival as Miss Lei Entertainers. Initially shy and reserved, Nataliyah views this contest as an opportunity to boost her confidence and develop her public speaking skills.
This year’s festival theme, “Breaking the Waves of Addiction,” resonates with her as she aims to promote the significance of family time as a support system for healing. Growing up in a single-parent household as the youngest of six siblings, Nataliyah emphasizes the importance of love and unity in her family, which has been a source of strength despite their economic challenges.
She started her education at Christian Mission Fellowship Primary School in Suva, later moving to Sigatoka Methodist School, and eventually graduating from Sigatoka Andhra Sangam College. Nataliyah encourages those who may feel shy or introverted to challenge themselves, embrace confidence, and express their thoughts.
In a world where mental health and addiction issues are increasingly prevalent, Nataliyah’s advocacy for family and community support is both timely and vital. Her journey serves as an inspiring reminder of the profound impact that personal connections can have on overcoming life’s obstacles.
By stepping out of her comfort zone, Nataliyah not only seeks to uplift herself but also aims to inspire others to embrace their true selves and utilize their voices for positive change.
