Eleni Seniloli has made a remarkable transition from aspiring accountant to military officer, recently achieving a major milestone by becoming the first woman in her family to earn this distinction. Her graduation parade took place at the RFMF Forces Training Group camp in Nasinu, where she stood proudly with her fellow graduates after completing an intense 18-month training program.
Ms. Seniloli, a former deputy head girl at Adi Cakobau School, was resolute in her decision to join the military, despite facing skepticism from peers and family alike. Reflecting on her journey, she expressed her emotional struggles, stating, “With words of discouragement at the forefront of it all, I took them as a coping mechanism to finish the race.” Throughout the rigorous training, her faith kept her motivated, as she leaned on spiritual guidance for strength.
Having spent five years at an all-girls school, Ms. Seniloli faced challenges in adapting to a male-dominated environment.
