Police Constable (PC) Sadamma from the Labasa Police Station has shared her empowering journey, emphasizing that women can successfully balance multiple roles, including being a police officer, mother, and wife. Her statements came after receiving a Long Service and Good Conduct medal, along with 37 other police personnel from the Northern Division, during a ceremony officiated by Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew at the Labasa Civic Centre.

Having dedicated 20 years to the Fiji Police Force, PC Sadamma reflected on her experience in a predominantly male-dominated environment. Despite initial challenges, she credited the support of her family and understanding superiors with helping her succeed in her role. Currently working in the Sexual Offence Unit, she focuses on sensitive cases involving children and women, a position she finds deeply rewarding. “I chose to become a Policewoman because I wanted to help others, especially women and children,” she stated.
