IBO Asia Pacific super welterweight champion Winston Hill is set to face Australian fighter Lachlan O’Shea in the main event tonight at Nadi’s Prince Charles Park. During the official weigh-in, Hill came in at a lean 68.45 kilograms, while O’Shea weighed 69.8 kilograms.
Hill is looking forward to a celebration, as his brother Jonathan Hill will also be in action, fighting Siliveni Nawai for the Fiji super middleweight title on the undercard. “We are ready to dominate our fights as we have been training together in camp for a long time,” he stated. “I’m eagerly anticipating fight night. It’s a significant event with many major titles at stake. Prince Charles Park will be electrifying with the ring announcer and Sonny Bill Williams present.” This will be a special night for Team Hill as they fight alongside each other, with Jonathan aiming for a national title.
In another match, Sebastian ‘The Sniper’ Singh expressed confidence in winning the IBO Asia Pacific cruiserweight title from Australia’s ‘King’ Tonga Tongotongo. Singh weighed in at 89.75 kilograms, while Tongotongo was at 87.55 kilograms. “I’m excited about the hard work we’ve both put in,” said Singh, a boxer from Suva. “We’re feeling great, with a lot of adrenaline, and I just want to get the job done.” He avoided making specific predictions about the fight, instead suggesting that “whatever happens, happens.”
For the Fiji super middleweight title, current champion Siliveni Nawai weighed in at 75.5 kilograms, while Jonathan Hill was at 74.8 kilograms. Nawai, known as “Hands of Stone,” stated, “I have prepared for this fight and will be ready for whatever Hill brings.”
