All boxers are granted equal opportunities to participate in boxing matches, a principle emphasized by Adi Narayan, the chairman of the Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF). This message was conveyed during the recent launch of the Bluewater Boxing Promotion, held at the Holiday Inn in Suva.

Narayan stated that the commission will not intervene in matches, even when there’s a disparity in the number of fights between competing boxers. “If a boxer has a record that does not match their opponent, the commission will not object,” he explained to SUNSports. He emphasized the spirit of competition, indicating that fights are about proving oneself rather than being strictly about records.

He highlighted that boxer Robin Hazelman has the opportunity to challenge the cruiserweight title holder, Alivereti Kauyaca, contingent on his victory against Joseph Kwadjo. “Give him a chance; he might knock him out,” Narayan remarked, adding excitement about the upcoming event scheduled for February 22 at the Vodafone Arena, where Hazelman and Kwadjo will serve as the main event amidst a card that features 15 bouts.

Summary: The chairman of the Boxing Commission of Fiji reassured that all boxers will have equal chances to compete in bouts, regardless of their record. With an upcoming match featuring Robin Hazelman against Joseph Kwadjo, the potential for an exciting showdown is anticipated.

This supportive approach by the BCF is likely to inspire boxers and create a more inclusive environment within the sport. Such opportunities could potentially lead to unexpected outcomes, making boxing promotions more thrilling and unpredictable for fans and athletes alike.
