Ten local football coaches are currently participating in a five-day Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) B-licence coaching course, Part Two, taking place at the Fiji Football Association Academy in Ba. This training initiative started on Sunday and will continue through Thursday, aimed at enhancing the skills and understanding of the coaches involved.

According to Coach Educator Yogendra Dutt, the course encompasses six key competencies: football knowledge, leadership, game understanding, player development, coaching processes, and the creation of a personal football philosophy. Dutt emphasized that the program not only encourages growth among the coaches but also challenges them to adapt to new experiences they may encounter in their future coaching careers.

This course is a continuation of the B-licence Part One, which was previously held at the Suva Academy in December 2023. The current sessions are being conducted by Dutt in collaboration with national coach Rob Sherman.

The participating coaches include Ronil Kumar from Ba, Babs Khan from Suva, Roderick Singh from Rewa, Saiyad Ali from Navua, Rozal Hussain from Savusavu, Johan Leewai from Labasa, Mohammed Asif Khan from Nadi, Dhiren Chand from Ba, Shawal Prasad from Tavua, and Alvin Chand from Labasa.

This initiative highlights a collective investment in the future of football in the region, as it empowers local coaches with advanced knowledge and skills, fostering a new generation of football leadership that can inspire players and contribute positively to the sport in their communities. The dedication of these coaches reflects a hopeful outlook for the development of football in the Oceania region.
