Bokobuka, the defending champions of the Siga Damu a Vanua championship shield in the senior premier division, is gearing up for a challenging upcoming season. The team celebrated their title victory with a decisive 28-18 win against Police at Subrail Park in Labasa.

During a recent thanksgiving service, coach Viliame Maiono emphasized the need for enhanced discipline among the players to successfully defend their title. He acknowledged that achieving this goal would require significant sacrifices from the team members. Maiono underscored that preparation for the season should encompass both physical and mental aspects to compete effectively.

He reflected on the challenges faced in the previous season, particularly concerning the availability of team members tied up with duties stationed away from Labasa, such as in Nabouwalu, Savusavu, and Seaqaqa. This issue necessitated the inclusion of additional players to ensure the team remained competitive.

Another hurdle was the lack of necessary equipment, which Maiono is actively addressing through quotations and plans to acquire these resources by 2025. He conveyed his gratitude to their supporters and the strength received from their faith, indicating that the team is committed to unity in overcoming future obstacles.

As they look ahead, Bokobuka is poised to meet the challenges of the next season with determination and a strong sense of teamwork. Their resilience and proactive approach signal a hopeful outlook for the upcoming competitions, inspiring confidence in both players and fans alike.

Overall, the dedication and commitment shown by Bokobuka and their coaching staff not only highlights the spirit of sportsmanship but also sets an example of teamwork and perseverance that can inspire other teams in the league.
