Members of the Bloc of 16 in Parliament have the option to establish a political party as long as they adhere to the guidelines set forth in the Political Parties Act. Independent MP Jone Usamate made this statement during an interview on The Lens@177 yesterday.

“Anyone can create a political party according to the Political Parties Act,” he explained. He added that if the group follows the proper procedures, forming a political party is certainly feasible. Usamate emphasized that the Bloc of 16 is focused on maintaining discipline among its members and finding common values that unite them.

When questioned about the possibility of another division within the Bloc of 16, Usamate acknowledged the uncertainty of the future. “Who knows? It’s speculation but who knows? Today, the sun will rise at six, tomorrow it can be near eight. You never know what happens in the future. However, we are working hard to keep the group together.”

He also mentioned that the members have reaffirmed Inia Seruiratu as their leader.
