Spread the love

Members of the Bloc of 16 in Parliament have the option to establish a political party, provided they adhere to the guidelines set forth in the Political Parties Act. Independent MP Jone Usamate expressed this view during an interview with The Lens@177.

He emphasized that “anybody can form a political party” as long as they follow the necessary processes outlined in the legislation. Usamate highlighted the commitment of the Bloc of 16 to maintain discipline and find common ground on shared values to remain focused and united.

When questioned about the potential for another split within the Bloc, Usamate acknowledged that the future is uncertain. He remarked, “Who knows? It’s speculation, but who knows?” His comments reflect a cautious outlook on the group’s cohesion while reaffirming support for their leader, Inia Seruiratu.
