Behind Closed Doors: The Mysterious Launch of COMO Laucala Island Hangar

The anticipated opening of the COMO Laucala Island hangar at Nadi International Airport was held behind closed doors yesterday in what organizers called a “miracle” event. Trade Minister Manoa Kamikamica stated that the launch was private, allowing only the Government’s Information arm to attend. He expressed optimism that this development would foster a positive business environment.

The multi-million dollar project took five years to complete and faced several challenges, including Stop Order notices from the previous Bainimarama government. Kamikamica noted that the project was halted until it was approved to move forward by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.

Laucala Island is known as a luxurious destination for affluent visitors, contributing an estimated $3 million in foreign exchange to Fiji each month. COMO Laucala Island also boasts a private lounge at Nadi International Airport.
