Sunishma Singh was named Miss Continental Oceania 2024 at the Miss Face of Beauty International Pageant held in Taiwan on Thursday.
The 28-year-old, an advocate for sustainability and an entrepreneur, expressed her gratitude for the chance to represent Fiji and the entire Oceania region.
“This title serves as a platform for me to promote climate resilience, sustainable tourism, and gender empowerment on a global level,” Singh stated. “I recognize the responsibility that comes with this title and am eager to leverage this recognition to highlight crucial issues both in Fiji and throughout the Pacific community.”
Singh emphasized her belief in using every opportunity to advance the causes she is passionate about, highlighting this pageant as a perfect venue to showcase the beauty of Fiji and her commitment to sustainability.
Although competing in Taiwan, she missed home and the comfort of home-cooked meals, while being inspired by the extraordinary women she met from around the globe, each contributing unique strengths and perspectives.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Information Systems and Geography, along with a postgraduate degree in Climate Change from the University of the South Pacific. Singh works as the Sustainability Officer at Tourism Fiji and runs a flourishing business, Singh’s Herbal Hair Oil, which is available in over 65 supermarkets across Fiji.
“I am deeply committed to promoting sustainable practices, and my advocacy extends to environmental resilience and gender empowerment,” she noted.
Singh’s journey has included numerous challenges and achievements, particularly in managing the demands of her studies alongside her work. She expressed her determination to excel academically while establishing a career centered on sustainability and entrepreneurship.
The pageant also crowned Jeanne Isabelle Bilasano from the Philippines as the winner of the Miss Face of Beauty International 2024 title.
