Salaseini Seruvatu, a 19-year-old contestant from Savusavu, is leveraging the Vodafone Nasinu Festival to advocate for change as a victim of cyberbullying. Representing Nadera and sponsored by Ozone Electrical, she aims to raise awareness about the impacts of drug abuse and cyberbullying on families and youth.

“My experiences with cyberbullying, combined with witnessing drug abuse issues in Nadera, have driven me to take action,” said Ms. Seruvatu, a student at the University of the South Pacific. She hopes to collaborate with NGOs to launch awareness campaigns and offer counseling and legal help to create safe spaces for victims.

“By cultivating a compassionate and supportive community, we can decrease stigma and empower individuals to seek help without fear,” she added. As she aspires to become a strong advocate for community issues, she believes this experience will be crucial in developing her skills as an effective and empathetic leader.

Ms. Seruvatu is among seven contestants competing for the festival’s main crown, which will take place from August 17 to August 24.
