Salaseini Seruvatu, a victim of cyberbullying, is seeking to use the Vodafone Nasinu Festival platform to advocate for meaningful change. The 19-year-old beauty queen from Savusavu, sponsored by Ozone Electrical and representing Nadera, aims to highlight the impact of drug abuse and cyberbullying on families and youth.
“My personal encounters with cyberbullying, along with witnessing drug abuse within Nadera, have inspired me to take a stand,” said Ms. Seruvatu. A student at the University of the South Pacific, she hopes to collaborate with NGOs to launch awareness campaigns and provide counseling and legal support to create safe spaces for victims.
“By cultivating a compassionate and supportive community, we can help eliminate stigma and empower individuals to seek assistance without fear,” she added.
Ms. Seruvatu is among seven contestants competing for the main crown at the festival, which is set to take place from August 17 to August 24.
