As the highly anticipated Ratu Sukuna Bowl approaches, the Fiji Police Force has officially announced its football team to compete against the Army next month.
Manager Navin Sami unveiled the 25-member squad on Saturday following the conclusion of the Police Inter-Formation Soccer Tournament, where Western Division Team Two secured a narrow 1-0 victory over the Police Mobile Force.
The winning team, known as WD 2, contributed significantly to the squad with six players selected to represent the Police. Sami indicated that the team would soon enter training camp, featuring notable players like Akuila Mataisuva, Simione Tamanisau, Tevita Waranivalu, and Sairusi Nalaubu.
Entering this year’s Sukuna Bowl as defending champions, the Police hope to build on their previous performance, which ended in a one-all draw against the Army at the Fiji Football Association Academy Ground in Vatuwaqa, Suva last year, following an early goal by the Police team.
