Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School and Nasinu Secondary School have successfully advanced to the national quarter-finals of the Deans competition.
During the Southern Zone U18 semi-finals at Bidesi Park in Suva, MGM narrowly defeated Suva Grammar School with a score of 27-22, while Nasinu edged out Marist Brothers High School 24-22.
Despite facing challenges with only 14 players for most of the first half and later being reduced to 13 after a second red card, Nasinu managed a hard-fought victory.
Next Saturday, Nasinu Secondary School is set to face MGM in the final at the HFC Bank Stadium.
In the Eastern Division, the defending champions Queen Victoria School will compete against Ratu Kadavulevu School in the finals, following QVS’s 18-15 win over Tailevu North College and RKS’s 15-15 tie with Lelean Memorial School.
