KONTIKI Finance has significantly enhanced the upcoming Banana Cup tournament by providing a generous $2000 sponsorship, presented by marketing manager Joni Moce at the Suva Bowling Club yesterday. This contribution builds on Kontiki’s earlier sponsorship of the Pineapple Cup in September, underscoring their dedication to promoting local sports.
The Banana Cup, which has been celebrated as a national event for over 60 years, is anticipated to attract between 20 to 30 participants, including promising young bowlers under 20 as well as seasoned national representatives. Event coordinator Litia Tikoisuva expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are looking forward to a good weekend, and may the best team win.” She noted that the tournament’s unpredictable nature allows for exciting matchups, where even novice players can outshine their more experienced counterparts.
Moce encouraged families and community members to attend the tournament this weekend, emphasizing that the sport is not only about rolling the ball, but also heavily relies on strategy and precision. She highlighted that the event promises an engaging atmosphere filled with entertainment, food, and beverages, enticing everyone to join in the experience.
As anticipation builds, both Kontiki Finance and the tournament organizers are eager to unite the community for a memorable and successful event. The Banana Cup competition is slated to take place this Saturday at the Suva Bowling Club, kicking off at 9 am.
This event symbolizes not just competitive spirit but also community involvement, showcasing how local sports can foster connections and enjoyment among residents. Such initiatives by sponsors like Kontiki Finance contribute greatly to nurturing talent and providing a platform for emerging athletes.
