The Ba Rugby Union has successfully completed its level two coaching course in Ba. A total of 11 participants took part, including eight coaches from various districts and three women.
The objective of the course is to enhance coaching standards across all districts, with a goal to ensure that every district coach obtains a level two certification by next year.
Ba Rugby Union secretary Pastor Gabby Kautoga emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “This is part of our club pathway towards the district right to the provincial level. The course serves as a stepping stone for coaches to advance within the rugby development structure and prepare their teams for higher levels of competition.”
The Tiliva/Bukuya girls’ teams volunteered to assist with the practical assessments during the course, allowing opportunities for the coaches to be monitored and evaluated. Kautoga indicated that the coaches will continue to be assessed, with certificates expected to be awarded by December.
“We hope to recognize them during our awards night in December,” he added.
This initiative underscores the Ba Rugby Union’s dedication to establishing a robust coaching foundation to nurture the region’s blossoming rugby talent.
