The Ba Rugby Union wrapped up its level two coaching course in Ba yesterday, with around 11 participants, including eight coaches from various tikina and three women. The course is designed to elevate coaching standards across all tikina, with a goal of ensuring that every coach holds a level two certification by next year.
Ba Rugby Union secretary Pastor Gabby Kautoga emphasized the significance of this initiative, stating, “This is part of our club pathway towards the tikina right to the provincial level. The course serves as a stepping stone for coaches to progress within the rugby development structure and prepare their teams for higher levels of competition.”
The Tiliva/Bukuya girls’ teams volunteered to aid in the practical assessments during the course, allowing coaches to be monitored and evaluated. Kautoga mentioned that coaches would continue to be assessed, and they are expected to receive their certificates by December.
“We hope to recognize them during our awards night in December,” he added.
This initiative underscores the Ba Rugby Union’s commitment to fostering a strong coaching foundation to support the region’s emerging rugby talent.
