The 2024 BIL Ba Rugby Tikina Championships are set to kick off next Thursday. The Ba Rugby Union (BRU) has confirmed that organizers are making final preparations for the highly anticipated event.
Rugby officials are urging teams that have not yet submitted their Tikina registration forms to do so promptly. This includes the teams from Bulu, Nailaga, Naloto, Qaliyalatina, Savatu, and Veiyasana.
As excitement builds, the Ba Rugby Union has established guidelines to ensure fairness and smooth proceedings during the tournament. One key guideline states that no individual should hold multiple roles, such as managing both the Under-19 and Women’s teams, to prevent conflicts of interest.
However, there are some logistical challenges to address prior to the launch. Teams such as Magodro and Naloto in the Women’s division, and Qaliyalatina, Savatu, and Yakete in the Men’s division, still need to return their uniforms from the 2023 season.
Once these issues are resolved, the championship is poised to be an exhilarating showcase for local rugby talent as the 2024 season approaches.
