Ba Primary School athletes are making a triumphant return to the prestigious Chow Games this year after a five-year hiatus. The Ba Primary School Athletics Competition is currently taking place at Churchill Park’s rubber tracks in Lautoka, marking the first time the Ba athletes have competed in this venue.

A total of 40 primary schools from the Ba region are participating in the event, celebrating the talent and determination of young athletes. Tournament coordinator Ana Tuiloa expressed her enthusiasm for the event and the remarkable skills demonstrated by the competitors. “This year, we’re returning to the Chow Games after five years, and having the competition on these rubber tracks allows these students to fully display their talents,” she stated.

Around 1,500 athletes are competing in this two-day event, with approximately 100 of the top performers set to represent Ba at the national finals next month. Tuiloa emphasized the significance of the competition, stating, “We want these students to realize their potential and talents.”

Many participating schools traveled considerable distances to attend, including Navala Catholic and Nakoroboya, which are located in the interior regions of Ba. Their efforts demonstrate a strong commitment to securing a spot in the Ba squad for the primary school finals.
