Attorney-General Graham Leung Calls for Acting DPP John Rabuku to Step Aside

Attorney-General Graham Leung has changed his position regarding Acting Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku after receiving a Supreme Court opinion.

Initially, Leung stated that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is appointed by the President based on the independent advice of the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) and that he would respect the JSC’s process.

However, in a surprising statement on Facebook last night, the Attorney-General urged Rabuku to “do the honourable thing and step aside,” stressing that the integrity of the office is more important than individual interests.
