Attorney-General Graham Leung Calls for Acting DPP John Rabuku to Step Aside

Attorney-General Graham Leung has changed his stance regarding Acting Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku following a Supreme Court opinion.

Initially, Leung stated that the Director of Public Prosecutions is appointed by the President based on the Judicial Services Commission’s independent advice and affirmed that he would respect the JSC’s process.

However, in a surprising Facebook statement last night, the Attorney-General called for Rabuku to “do the honourable thing and step aside,” emphasising that the office’s integrity surpasses individual interests.
