Attorney-General Graham Leung has altered his position on Acting Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku following a Supreme Court opinion.

Initially, Mr. Leung asserted that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is appointed by the President based on the independent advice of the Judicial Services Commission (JSC), and he pledged to respect the JSC’s process.

However, in a surprising Facebook statement last night, the Attorney-General called for Mr. Rabuku to “do the honourable thing and step aside,” emphasizing that the integrity of the office surpasses individual interests.
