Attorney-General Graham Leung has reversed his position on Acting Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku following a Supreme Court opinion.

Initially, Mr. Leung confirmed that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is appointed by the President based on the Judicial Services Commission’s (JSC) independent advice and indicated he would honor the JSC’s process.

However, in an unexpected Facebook statement last night, the Attorney-General urged Mr. Rabuku to “do the honorable thing and step aside,” stressing that the integrity of the office is more important than individual interests.
