Attorney-General Graham Leung has reversed his position on Acting Director of Public Prosecutions John Rabuku following a Supreme Court opinion.
Initially, Mr. Leung affirmed that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) is appointed by the President based on the Judicial Services Commission’s (JSC) independent advice and stated that he would respect the JSC’s process.
However, in a surprising Facebook statement last night, the A-G called for Mr. Rabuku to “do the honourable thing and step aside”, emphasizing that the office’s integrity surpasses individual interests.
