Harish Sharma, the former Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the National Federation Party (NFP), remains an influential figure in Fiji’s vibrant political landscape. At the age of 92, he recently launched his memoir, titled “Road to Parliament: A Glimpse into the Life of Hon. Harish C. Sharma,” in Suva.
During the launch event, Finance Minister and current NFP leader Professor Biman Prasad highlighted Mr. Sharma’s extensive political experience, noting that he has worked alongside significant leaders such as NFP founder A.D. Patel, S.M. Koya, and Justice Jai Ram Reddy. Professor Prasad remarked, “To almost reach 90 years of age and start writing memoirs is nothing short of a miracle. The Road to Parliament is a testament to the character of a man known for his humility, kindness, decency, integrity, and honesty.”
In his remarks at the event, Mr. Sharma encouraged the younger generation to set goals and diligently pursue them. He also shared excerpts from his memoir, reflecting on the various challenges he faced throughout his life. The gathering attracted many prominent members of the NFP, underscoring Mr. Sharma’s lasting impact on Fiji’s political scene.
