Assistance for Families of Longest Strike in the Vatukoula Gold Mine: PM’s Revelation

The Coalition Government has decided to support the families of workers who have been on strike since 1991 at the Vatukoula Gold Mine, with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka stating that the timing was divine.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka announced this while meeting with hundreds of family members in Ba today.

He mentioned that the issue was discussed with the National Federation Party and SODELPA, and there was unanimous agreement to assist the affected families.

Rabuka noted that the strike commenced in 1991 during his previous tenure as Prime Minister, and he believes it is by divine will that he is now able to address the situation and aid the families.

Minister for Employment Agni Deo Singh was also present at the meeting.
