Aspen Medical Expands Ambulance Fleet to Enhance Patient Safety.

Aspen Medical has introduced two new ambulances to serve the Ba and Lautoka hospitals.

The Toyota Land Cruiser Military model ambulances, equipped with a 4.5-litre diesel engine and manual transmission, are designed to ensure safety while transferring patients between the hospitals.

Barry Herberts, Chief Operations Officer in Fiji, stated, “The ambulances conform to Australian Standards, and both units are outfitted with a full range of medical equipment necessary for emergencies on the road.”

He added, “Even with the addition of our ambulance services, we will continue cooperating closely with other service providers to meet the needs of our patients.”

During the first half of this year, a total of 1,065 patients were transferred between the hospitals.

Aspen Medical Health Care (Fiji) Pte Ltd is a Public-Private Partnership company created through the collaboration between the Fiji National Provident Fund and Aspen Medical Pty Ltd. The company manages Lautoka Hospital and Ba Hospital under a contract with the Government of Fiji.
