Asma Fareha Khan has taken a significant step in expanding her online business by launching a retail store in response to client demand. The new outlet, named Asma Fashion Closet, is situated on the main street of Nadi Town.
Originally from Punjab, India, Ms. Khan possesses a wealth of knowledge regarding fashion, various product lines, and their quality. She is married to Manuawar Khan, an established information technology professional in Nadi.
“It has been our dream to venture into this business,” she expressed, highlighting the inviting atmosphere of the store, designed to provide a cozy and comfortable shopping experience. The shop aims to create a welcoming space akin to a personal closet.
The store specializes in importing unique and stylish women’s apparel, accessories such as footwear, jewelry, luxury clutches, handbags, hijabs, and more.
Mr. Khan recognizes the potential for retail in Fiji, particularly for Indian ethnic and Indo-western fashion and accessories. “The market is competitive in Fiji, but our aim is to introduce quality and distinctive products that aren’t widely available,” he stated. Currently, Fiji lacks local manufacturing facilities, but some items are customized to ensure uniqueness.
The Kahn’s have invested approximately $60,000 to establish and stock their showroom, which currently employs two staff members. They also plan to grow their business by opening additional showrooms in the western division.
